heltered on a quiet bay in the beautiful Halliburton Highlands, the Domain of Killien is an agreeable contradiction: a charming French dining room within an Ontario wilderness inn. The contrast works well for business guests, who may participate in outdoor adventures on a private 5,000-acre estate, and then enjoy excellent French cuisine and comfortable lakeside accommodations. The inn's Conference House and 12 guest rooms are suited to executive retreats and small seminars; these groups may have exclusive use of the property.
This secluded property grew naturally out of its history. Originally a backwoods hunting lodge, the Domain was purchased in 1982 by Count and Countess de Moustier, who transformed the rustic lodge into a charming country inn with a distinctive European influence. A new conference house provides very comfortable meeting space with furnishings for both board meetings and more casual fireside conversation.

| |
The Domain of Killien has 12 accommodations: five individually-decorated rooms in the historic main lodge and seven lakeside chalets. All accommodations blend the natural charm of the setting with such civilized touches of comfort as down duvets, soft bathrobes, jacuzzis and cedar-lined closets (in the lodge) and wood-burning fireplaces (in the chalets). In order to protect the restorative peacefulness of our property, the Domain is free from radios, televisions or other intrusions.

Dining |
Domain of Killien |
| |
The Domain of Killien pays special attention to the joys of the table. Accomplished chefs from France create a different menu daily, and offer the great classics of French cuisine as well as dishes infused with seasonal and regional flavours. Only the freshest ingredients along with organically-grown herbs and vegetables are used, and the smoked salmon and duck are produced
at the inn. To complement dinner, guests enjoy a fine vintage from a carefully chosen wine list. Meals are enjoyed in the main dining room overlooking the grounds and lake, and picnic lunches are available for guests who plan to ski or hike.
