he
Gananoque Inn & Spa has been a landmark to travellers in the scenic 1000
Islands for over a century: a grand Victorian hotel, picturesquely
pretty, especially when the balconies and central tower twinkle with
tiny lights. The inn provides conference facilities for groups of up
to 150, with a variety of accommodation types and meeting rooms. The
unifying theme is the sparkling St. Lawrence River, and many guest
rooms and meeting spaces have immediate access to private waterfront
lawns.
Although the inn began life as a carriage works, it was converted to
a hotel in the 1890s, and the facilities were expanded and
modernized over the decades. What has remained constant is a
commitment to a tradition of "warm hospitality combined with
idyllic surroundings." The inn's full time meeting coordinators
are expert at arranging memorable experiences along the St. Lawrence
River, from fishing charters to theatre outings, and inn staff earn
high praise for their attention to the details of meeting planning.
