uilt in 1878 for Sir Edwards Merrill, a colleague of Sir John
A. Macdonald, this stately inn, with its striking gingerbread
and bargeboard trimmed gables, is ringed by sweeping, manicured
lawns. The bedrooms and suites, some of which have fireplaces
and whirlpool baths, are elegantly furnished with period
antiques, TV and VCR, complimentary high speed wireless internet
and individually controlled heat and air conditioning.
The Merrill Inn is ideally suited for intimate corporate
retreats and social gatherings who wish to utilize the entire
inn for their special event. Elegant meeting facilities can
accommodate up to 24 guests.
“The Restaurant” features the culinary creations of the
acclaimed Chef Michael Sullivan. The menu is crafted utilizing a
vast array of local produce, fish and meats. The wine list is a
Wine Spectator Magazine Award of Excellence recipient. The
Restaurant has been awarded three stars by Toronto Life
Magazine.
The “county”, a rural enclave with sandy beaches, has a rich
United Empire Loyalist heritage. The inn is centrally located in
Picton; walking distance to shops, cafes, antique stores and the
Edwardian-era Regent Theatre. The county is Ontario’s newest
wine region with 10 operating wineries. Outdoor activities
include cycling, hiking, golfing, water sports, cross-country
skiing and snowshoeing. Group activities at any of these venues
can be arranged.

three hours from Montreal. Pick up at the Belleville VIA Rail

two main meeting salons and a casual breakout room.
The Main Salon is on the main level of the inn and can
accommodate up to 10 people boardroom style or a stand up
reception for 16 guests. The Restaurant can accommodate 14
people boardroom style or 24 guests for dining. The main level
sun room can accommodate 10 people in a casual setting for
breakout or working lunch.

There are 13 beautifully appointed guestrooms: one classic room with a double bed; five classic rooms with a
queen bed each; three premium rooms with two double beds; one
premium room with one queen bed; one fireplace suite with one
queen bed; one Jacuzzi suite with one queen bed and a one
bedroom suite with two double beds and living room. All
guestrooms are individually decorated with period antiques and
have ensuite bathrooms with faux painted walls and Italian
ceramics. Guestroom amenities include individually controlled
heat and air conditioning, cable TV/VCR, complimentary bottled
water, telephone with free local phone calls and evening
turndown service.
